JOB SUMMARY: Provide implementation support for variety of tasks arising from assigned states. At direction of supervisor or assigned product consultant, create and guide implementation of manual rate & rule change, product description modifications, forms modification and process changes. Aid in product development tasks, new systems development, systems quality control, competitive intelligence gathering and record keeping. Perform key liaison work with business analysts. Serve as resource for products & systems group and Personal Lines Underwriting on systems, workflows and process. Team with state filings analysts to foster swift development, filing, implementation and integration of form, rate and rule filings.
Perform duties according to established procedures and authority level according to level of responsibility. Position requires high quality judgment with responsibility for maintaining required workflows, information processing and business systems efficiency with some oversight from management.
CORE JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop forms, manual rate & rule pages, competitive matrices at request of Product Consultant and supervisor.
Coordinate rate/form/process development through high level interaction with State Filings Unit, Business Analysts and systems peers assuring on time execution.
Support production of, loss ratio, rate indications, rate change monitor and pricing reports as required.
Assist with developing the appropriate management information tools to accomplish all Personal Lines Products & Systems related tasks.
Provide guidance as needed to home, regional, branch office or staff personnel on technical issues.
Interact with insurance departments, regulatory agencies, and bureaus as required.
Monitor statutory and regulatory bulletins on a regular basis.
Respond to and coordinate data calls from assigned states.
Serve as coordinator for Market Conduct Examinations.
May develop management reports to monitor and analyze product lines.
May brief management regarding variety of state/ line of business topics as required.
May participate in business meetings involving agents and company personnel.
May travel in support of business functions and to foster relationship building and develop in-depth knowledge of regulatory idiosyncrasies.
Prepare project requests for changes to automated systems.
Contact with various home office, regional office and branch office departments.
Maintain effective communications with company personnel, agents, and policyholders.
Maintains a broad range of contact with company departments and personnel.
Assist in design, development and implementation of product development activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Undergraduate studies such as business administration, insurance, actuarial science or related studies.
License/Certification/Designation: AU, INS and/or CPCU preferred.
Experience: Two years related experience in personal lines/commercial line insurance including financial services, marketing or communications preferred. Previous product experience preferred.
Knowledge: Knowledgeable in statutes and regulations. Statistical data and management information requirements necessary to develop reports. Technical knowledge and the ability to communicate personal lines coverages, manual rules and automated systems for assigned lines. Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures. Good understanding of the function supported.
Skills/Competencies: Understand ratemaking, pricing and the function of rate statistical boards and bureaus. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Strong presentation skills.
