This role will be responsible and accountable for the implementation and management of the commercial telematics/connected fleet platform.
Manage the coordination, development, and implementation of products, features, and capabilities for the commercial telematics platform
Proactively seeks out opportunities and collaborates with other business partners in aligning business with the telematics roadmap, including, but not limited to; IT, claims, sales, marketing, pricing, operations, underwriting, finance, user experience, and innovation
Work with and manage vendor partners to align potential solutions with the implementation of the commercial telematics platform
Manage in-market performance of the telematics product offering and capability while identifying and capitalizing on areas of opportunity
Identify and partner on user testing with the target customer
Responsible for the thoughtful and methodical expansion of the commercial telematics platform
Collaborate and leverage innovation techniques to solve problems for our target customer
Skills Desired of Candidates:
Knowledge of existing and emerging insurance business models for the connected car and telematics space
Depth of knowledge in product, underwriting, distribution, digital, or marketing partnered with breadth of knowledge across the entire value chain
Project and Product management experience
Ability to influence effectively

JOB SUMMARYRecommends the development of additional features/capabilities. Designs, manages, and executes project work plans for new business or new implementation. Drives product growth and profitability in the assigned products or states. Typically has responsibility for a single product line (standard auto, nonstandard auto, property or commercial). May have responsibility for multiple states. Negotiates with region(s) regarding product and pricing features. Synchronizes all related functional areas related to product design, pricing, and management. Responsible for the implementation of regulatory and other compliance mandate changes.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSManager/Director/Officer; Direct reports as assigned.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Reviews pricing, design features, and associated processes. Executes growth and profitability strategies. May review reserving with actuarial.2. Provides leadership to all functional areas related to product design and management. Makes recommendations based on in-depth functional knowledge and opportunities for improvement. Functions as a mentor and facilitates leader development.3. Develops and drives key initiatives on product strategy and profitability. Manages strategies related to multiple product profitability objectives. Coordinates product strategy with sales, agency management, and marketing.4. Leads the process of analyzing market information on competitors. Proactively identifies product opportunities. Leads new business development and implementation projects. Partners with underwriting to develop standards and guidelines.5. Leads the coordination, development, and implementation of new product training.6. Provides market analysis tools and global data to the regions. Completes a national product analysis regarding performance, financial results, profitability, business mix, and competition. Designs forecasting models and functions as a technical expert on product issues. Proactively leads new business development and implementation. Communicates financial objectives and results.7. Guides the exploration, sponsoring, and evaluation process of new product performance tools and technology enhancements. Accountable for the quality and effectiveness of rate change and system enhancement implementations. Coordinates process change improvements. May provide input to appropriate functional areas to develop business specifications.8. Leads the rate review and communication process for assigned state(s) and products across all functional areas. Coordinates product recommendation implementations. Initiates action plans to improve and/or maintain product performance. Ensures underwriting guidelines aligns with rate plan changes and corporate strategy.9. Designs and implements state level product strategy and communication plans throughout the organization. Assures effective communication to appropriate product leaders and functional areas of the organization.10. Proactively seeks out opportunities to interact with other business partners while developing cross functional knowledge in claims, sales, marketing, pricing, operations, underwriting, and finance. Recommends cross functional developmental for direct reports. Acts as a mentor to business partners.11. Responsible for the management of associates including: performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions.MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTSExperience: Six years experience in personal lines/commercial lines insurance, financial services, marketing, or communications including two years previous product management experience.Education: Undergraduate studies such as insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, economics, finance, accounting, business administration or related field. MBA preferred. Insurance licenses or designations such as CPCU, ACAS, ARM, CLU, FLMI, ChFC, CFP, NASD etc preferred.Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of analytical tools, core business functions, underwriting policies and best practices, performance measurement techniques, and systems required. Knowledge of related pricing, marketing, insurance models/contracts, and financial analysis necessary.Skills/ Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communications necessary to effectively influence, train others, present information, communicate with management, agents, and policy holders. Must be skilled in the use of related systems and analytical tools. Ability to drive for results, deal with ambiguity, solve problems, learn on the fly, make decisions, see trends/patterns within regions necessary. Excellent project management skills necessary.
