JOB SUMMARY: Writes content for company web sites, applications and emails within project timelines and schedules. Assists team members in implementing content strategy. Ensures content adheres to established standards and meets user's needs. Interfaces with business stakeholders to review and iterate on content deliverables. Assists internet/intranet team members in implementing web content solutions. Translates business and creative requirements into functional requirements to enable development of web content solutions.

Job Description

RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Manager/Director.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists in creative design, development, and implementation process relating to current and future company’s online needs; including web page layout / visual presentation, template creation, web site navigation, graphic user interface, online advertising (banners, landing pages, animated GIFs, etc.). Assists in providing content management and daily maintenance of web sites.

  2. Codes and scripts content to company websites. Maintains and supports additions, changes and revisions.

  3. Assists in analyzing websites to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of all marketing endeavors. Works with various departments to improve the look/feel of websites.

  4. Helps to ensure compliance with brand guidelines on the website and assist in the deployment and upkeep of content.

  5. Assists in maintaining creative standards through efficient and effective work and careful quality control. Helps to develop and implement better production systems through research and further education.

  6. Collaborates with team members on cross-functional initiatives and coordinate the integration of creative and technical elements into a final content presentation.

  7. Assists in quality assurance testing all materials prior to submission. Fixes issues resulting from QA testing.

  8. Troubleshoots and fixes bugs related to content and system integration issues.

  9. Provides guidance, as needed, to other functional resources related to troubleshooting system integration issues

  10. Develops expertise in browser-specific and platform-specific design and functionality issues, and applies knowledge in design of websites and in consultation with other project members.Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Undergraduate studies in business, graphic design, computer science or related technical field is preferred.

Licenses/Designations: N/A

Experience: Typically 3 or more years of working experience in an internet production environment. Experience working on an enterprise eCommerce system desired. Experience with a content management or web publishing system preferred.

Knowledge: Knowledge in HTML across multiple browsers and platforms. Preferred experience with content management or templating system. Knowledge of software programs on PC windows computing platform such as Home Site, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Image Ready, Macromedia Flash, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Dreamweaver, MS Project, Visio.

Skills/Competencies: Ability to understand and develop business requirements in regards to Internet and content management. Microsoft office programs. Creative problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze and resolve publishing/production issues. Ability to develop and communicate publishing options and alternatives with content writers/producers.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Overtime Eligibility: Not Eligible (Exempt)

Working Conditions: Production environment. Occasional travel. Extended and/or non standard hours based on production schedules. Available to work on release nights.

Additional Job Description

Position is responsible for the execution of email campaigns supporting Nationwide Financial marketing. Duties will include writing the HTML for emails, processing and uploading lists, QA testing of emails, executing email sends and pulling data from completed campaigns. Skills should include HTML and CSS development for email (this is not the same as web), Microsoft Excel, experience in one of the top email service providers (ExactTarget, Responsys, Cheetah Mail, MailChimp as examples). High preference of ExactTarget experience. SQL experience a plus.
