JOB SUMMARY: Plans, develops, and coordinates programs and plans that result in profitable sales at agreed upon growth rates, acceptable premium, persistency, independent agency strength, and expense levels for a start-up operation.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Officer/VP. Direct Reports: Sales Managers and other support staff as assigned.
Directs all components of the sales organization for a group of territories in an independent channel regional operation.
Oversees the selection, training, evaluation, and compensation of the sales organization to ensure a high degree of competency and professionalism.
Assists marketing leadership in establishing regional and/or state objectives to align with established corporate goals.
Responsible for the planning and development of the integrated sales programs.
Responsible for the production of a satisfactory volume of new quality business for the assigned territories through new agency appointments and appropriate extraction of business from existing agents. Maintains high persistency of policies in force.
Achieves established profit and growth objectives through the development of sales production and retention plans for all lines of insurance products within the assigned territories.
Monitors the sales performance of the assigned territories in the areas of distribution strength, sales results, profitability, DWP, and sales plan effectives. Responsibilities include analysis of results and preparation of action plans to achieve desired results.
Responsible for the delivery of quality data at the agency level to be used in agency evaluation and strategic planning.
Plans, implements, and communicates policies, procedures, and financial budgets that result in attainment of sales objectives.
Responsible for the coordination of regional involvement in corporate promotions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
TYPICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
Education: Undergraduate studies in insurance, business, finance, marketing or related field.
License/Certification/Designation: Technical designation such as CPCU, CLU or equivalent insurance education preferred.
Experience: Eight years of field sales management or technical insurance experience.
Knowledge: Proven knowledge of sales program development, distribution systems, and training concepts involving products, rules, and rating plans.
Skills/Competencies: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and in written form, with all levels of management; advanced organizational abilities and the capability to manage several diverse tasks concurrently; high levels of credibility and professionalism in dealings with senior leadership.Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Frequent travel with some overnight travel. Company vehicle provided as within company policy.
