Product Specialist - Nationwide Financial (Louisville, KY)

JOB SUMMARY:

Assists with the initiation, development and maintenance of products with respect to design, profitability and growth. Based on organizational design, may gather information and make recommendations regarding: pricing and design features, underwriting, agency management, product distribution and claims procedures and standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Assists with the development and maintenance of products from beginning to end with shared responsibility for the products managed from both a growth and profitability perspective.2. Analyzes pricing and design features, underwriting, agency management, product distribution and claims procedures and standards based on organizational need. Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes recommendations to management.3. Assists in providing support to all functional areas of the company related to the design and management of the product.4. Utilizes market information to analyze trends and to make recommendation for improvement of products.5. Researches new tools and technology to enhance product performance.6. Assists in identifying business opportunities. Analyzes financial and statistical data/models to provide recommendations to management.7. Becomes proficient in pricing, product design, legal compliance, data analysis, agency management best practices, product distribution, marketing, sales, claims, and statistical reporting and insurance financials as necessary.8. May assists on special project teams.9. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education/Knowledge: Undergraduate studies preferred. Bachelor's Degree preferred. FINRA Series 6 & 63 licenses and KY LIfe Insurance license required within 120 days from start of employment. Exposure to research, analysis and development, and standards and practices for the selection, evaluation and pricing of product line risks.Experience: Three years experience in a related industry, including insurance, financial services, investments, marketing, business development and/or communications.Skills/Competencies: Demonstrated responsible decision making. Skilled in the use of analytic tools. Ability to drive for results, deal with ambiguity, communicate well and to understand strategic objectives. JOB CONDITIONS:Overtime Eligibility: Not eligible (exempt)Working conditions: Normal office environment. Extended work hours may be required based on workload. May require occasional travel.
