Nationwide Consultant, Special Accounts Program (Claims) in Scottsdale, Arizona

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for SIR accounts and programs. Implement SIR management in the development of training and handling support for Operations. Develop standards for SIR handling for operations staff and staffing model for Operations. Assist with New business and Program integration strategy. Manage and deliver SIR audit services and reporting. Assists with the implementation of a framework to facilitate and ensure delivery of superior claim service and management for special/large accounts and/or programs.

RELATIONSHIP: Reports to AVP or VP.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with strategic and consistent cross divisional approach to account management. Conducts research and analysis on business needs, processes and issues involving claim handling for large accounts or specialty programs.

  • Consults with agents, brokers, policy holders, underwriting and core business partners to solve business problems related to the customers business and the service/products provided by the Claim Division. Assist with the creation of process/technology changes to most effectively manage customer needs.

  • Maintains the TPA relationship and servicing of accounts, including the understanding of client needs with Underwriting.

  • Consults and provides expertise to executives, customers and core business functions to assure proper resources are in place to support large accounts or specialty programs. Provides input on vendors, skills needed to support customer needs.

  • Assists with maintenance of budget and aligns with developed process in the servicing of special accounts/programs.

  • Consults and provides expertise in the process of creating and building the infrastructure of systems and databases for large or special accounts and programs.

  • Consults and provides expertise with process, system and service improvement opportunities. Participates with assessment process for all existing and new special accounts.

  • Assists with the designs and implementation of a framework for agency visits including the development of marketing or other relevant materials. Supports operations staff in the performance of agency relationship management, agency visits or field audits.

  • Assist with the development of metrics and provides detailed reports

  • Contributes to the overall strategic vision and provides a broad range of ideas regarding process, design, implementation, support, and operation initiatives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree preferred. Equivalent experience or professional designation will be considered in lieu of degree.

Licenses/Designations: N/A

Experience: 6-8 years claims experience required. Requires multi-line experience with exposure to the general agency system and/or professional lines/national accounts. Knowledge of analytical tools, expert level knowledge of core business functions, underwriting policies, claims and best practices, performance measurement techniques, and systems required. Previous management experience preferred.

Knowledge: Multi-line, multi-jurisdictional, and E&S experience is helpful; knowledge of the General Agency system, state insurance department regulation, unfair claim handling regulations, and a good understanding of tort law. Specific knowledge of professional lines and/or national account management required.

Skills/Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communications skills necessary to effectively influence, train others, present information, communicate with management, agents, brokers, and policyholders. Must have an understanding of customer business environment. Competency in process development or process operations preferred. Proven leadership skills with the ability to work with technical and business teams. Must have the ability to make decisions and recommendations on process strategies.
